We Put the Funk in Dysfunctional

My work environment is especially toxic this week.

I'm keeping my head below the horizon in my ploddingly reliable, competent way. And hoping things get more functional when the dust clears.

I'm appreciated. It helps being someone who "plays well with others."

But the world is arbitrary and my workplace can seem especially so.

I've worked for the Teamsters Union and I've worked for an association of lawyers. My Teamster friends are tough. Still, they're a hell of a lot gentler on their staff.

My office is depressing to watch and depressing to be around this week.

And depressing, I don't need.

TGIF.

Hopefully the bad atmosphere will clear soon. There is a lot to be said for just putting your head down and doing what needs to be done.
I guess the important thing is to focus on the more pleasant aspects of life, such as your family and friends.

TGIF indeed. Try to leave the workplace stress and frustration behind for the weekend, and enjoy yourself!

I'm so sorry. I've been gone for a week and am kind of dreading going back to work myself. Hang in there.

Hope next week is better.

TGIF for sure. I hope things are better when you come back after a nice weekend with your family. . .

The workplace is designed to keep you from getting too happy in life...that is why weekends exist. Just forget you have a job for a couple of days and enjoy.

Thanks everybody.

I was just low and feeling sorry for myself. MJB is right, in the long-term.

In the meantime, your consolation, good advice and good wishes helped, and continue to help.

Thank you.
