Guinness Appreciation Day

Thanks Tara, this is a great idea.

I remember reading that Sir Alec Guinness was rather reluctant to do "Star Wars" because he thought that once he did it, it would be pretty much the only thing anyone would remember him for.

My family enjoyed a few Guinness's over St. Patty's Day. Nice bottles good taste.

I used to drink a lot of Guinness in college, but now it's just too heavy for me. It's probably just as well. Isn't it 900 calories a pinto or something?

I think Evil-E from "Random Crap" gave me this idea to post it as a holiday. Thanks to you and Evil-E!

I have always appreciated Mr. Guinness as Obi Wan.

"900 calories a pinto"

I don't think I'd hit anyone in the rear after they drank it: they might blow up.

Dmarks: He needn't have worried. His body of work stands the test of time. I still think of him as much for The Bridge over the River Kwai as I do for the Star Wars movies.

Moonbeam: I think that was the original idea for Guinness Appreciation day. I just took my usual cock-eyed approach to it. (Hee hee, I said cock).

Churlita: Don't worry about what you drank in college. I used to get thank you notes from small Latin American countries for keeping their economies afloat with purchases of contraband combustable materials.

Tara: I just added a link to Evil-E's page this week.

Dmarks: I live in a glass house on the topic of typos, so I tend not to call other people on them.

But you're right, 900 calories/pinto is a funny measurement.

Typo probelms? Me too. I just like Ford Pinto jokes.

I like your cock-eyed approach. Keep it up!

I don't drink this or any other alcohol. But I love Alec.

Someone told me that yesterday was alien abduction day, but I didn't quite know what to do with that.
