What the hell. Who are the Monkees?

I love The Monkee's. My favorite song was "Last Train To Clarksville".
I used to have the biggest crush on Davey Jones.

Oh my God. Really? Wow - where's my Geritol?

A1: At the end of the first Shrek movie, SmashMouth sings a song called "I'm a Believer".

It was first recorded by the Monkees, a made-for-TV band of the 60's, who outlived their TV incarnation.

Rachel: That's a good one. My favorite is probably Daydream Believer.

When I was 11, I saw Davey Jones play the Artful Dodger in a production of Oliver! in L.A. with my cousins.

We were visiting from Upstate New York, so I felt like the ultimate country mouse visiting the big city.

I thought he was the bestest actor in the whole world after that.

EK: I got the same feeling when I saw that Rachel's Hump Day Hottie today was born after I started college.

Wow.

You know, people say they monkey around. I'm just glad they're too busy singing to put anybody down. I mean, hey. They're just trying to be friendly.

Gotta go. Gonna watch them sing and play.

It's funny, but the one thing that is still recognizable about him, is his overbite.

haha! I guess it kind of makes me feel old...but hey, Michael Nesmith is still cute!

Wasn't his mother the inventor of "White-Out"? Maybe those are his CEO clothes in the current photo. And yes, oh my God - where is the Geritol?

Baby Bull: Just How I Felt.

Playtah: Thanks for the ear worm. Just wait until I unleash both verses and the chorus to the Theme from Underdog. (I was once in a band where that was our big finale or encore number.)

Churl: Hair is fleeting, but an overbite is forever.

L.B.: Your standards for judging cuteness are quite generous.

Great trivia pull anonymous visitor. His mom was, in fact, the inventor of, and patent-holder for "Liquid Paper". Thanks for playing, come visit again.

Ooooh, "Liquid Paper", how could I have forgotten? And I was so close!

I wonder if he can write his own stuff now?

I did not recognize him without his little hat.

I always thought Lancelot Link was a better show than the Monkees. The chimps had more talent. (they used to air back to back on a local TV station when I was a kid)

As kids we would always take the liquid paper bottle and use liquid paper on the label itself, so it said "Liquid Ape". I guess that ties into the Lance Link mention.

I won't say what we did to those yellow "Murine" bottles.

Oh my gawd! No way! I loved watching "The Monkeys" on TV. Then of course listening to their music.
